La Quebrada is one of the most famous tourist attractions in Acapulco, Mexico. Divers entertain tourists by jumping off of two ledges on the cliff, one that is 40 feet high and the top one which is 80 feet high. The divers must calculate the right moment to jump to catch an incoming wave and avoid serious injury or death. Occasionally jumpers dive with a torch. Most of the divers come from the family of Quebrada divers. Although cliff diving at La Quebrada had taken place for many years, it was not until 1934 that the La Quebrada Cliff Divers was formed
The show starts from the ascent of the diver , for among the natural crevices of the cliff, to reach the highest point , where their sanctuary is located; After his ritual , they go to a small platform placed at a height of 35 meters, in which the diver must calculate the motion of the waves , the tide and the wind , choosing the right time to jump into the void ; the diver makes contact with water in a time of 3 seconds at a high speed.
