DAY 01 TUXTLA GUTIERREZ- CAÑÓN DEL SUMIDERO - SAN CRISTÓBAL DE LAS CASAS
Reception at the Tuxtla Gutierrez airport and transfer to the Grijalva River pier to navigate and observe the geological wonder Cañón del Sumidero, where we will also observe diversity of flora and fauna. After the navigation, we will go to the Colonial City of San Cristóbal de Las Casas (2'300 MSNM), founded in 1528 by Captain Diego de Mazariegos, and declared a World Heritage Site. Upon arrival, check in at the chosen hotel and have the rest of the day off. Overnight.
DAY 02 SAN CRISTÓBAL - LAGOS DE MONTEBELLO - SAN CRISTÓBAL In the morning, departure from San Cristóbal de Las Casas, towards the Lagos de Montebello, our first visit will be the native pottery community of Amatenango del Valle; Later, we will go to the Cascada del Chiflón, a natural waterfall that is surrounded by exuberant vegetation formed by cane plantations and palm groves, we will finish with the visit to the most beautiful lake area in Mexico: the Lagos de Montebello. The Natural Reserve that bears this name, is composed of several hectares of pines, oaks and jungle; and where we will see several lakes, and admire, if the weather allows it, the different colors of the water that make up this beautiful place. Return in the evening to San Cristobal de Las Casas. Overnight.
DAY 03 SAN CRISTÓBAL DE LAS CASAS - NATIVE COMMUNITIES - CITY TOUR After breakfast, we will depart to the Native Communities of the Tzotzil ethnic group; visiting Chamula first, to learn, and thus understand the fusion of contemporary traditions and Mayan ancestral characteristics that identifies this place. Later, we will continue to Zinacantan, where we will visit the church and the house of a local family, where we will be received with a typical drink and we will watch how women work the waist loom of pre-Columbian eras. After seeing the samples of what they produce, they will offer us to go to their kitchen, where if we are lucky, they will invite us to taste handmade tortillas. When finished, we will return to San Cristóbal de Las Casas and a take a City Tour in this beautiful city. Rest of the day off. Overnight
DAY 04 SAN CRISTÓBAL - AGUA AZUL - MISOL HA - ARQUEOLOGICAL AREA OF PALENQUE
Early in the morning, we will leave for Palenque, stopping at Agua Azul, a set of waterfalls created by the currents of the Otulún, Shumuljá and Tulijá rivers, creating not very deep canyons with vertical cliffs, where you can swim and enjoy the different areas. Then, we will continue to the waterfalls of Misol-Ha, which with its 30 meters high, and surrounded by high tropical jungle, make this a beautiful and refreshing place. At the end we will visit the archaeological site of Palenque. This Mayan city stands out for its architectural and sculptural heritage; and where we can admire several buildings: The Palace, The Temple of the Foliated Cross, The Temple of the Sun and others. Tranfer to the hotel in the city of Palenque. Overnight.
DAY 05 PALENQUE - LA VENTA MUSEUM - VILLAHERMOSA AIRPORT
After breakfast we will depart to the city of Villahermosa, where we will visit
